Commercial Refrigeration: Coolers, Freezers, Ice Machines & Chillers

When a walk-in fails, you're losing inventory by the hour. We repair and maintain walk-in and reach-in coolers and freezers, Manitowoc and Hoshizaki ice machines, and light commercial chillers — the refrigeration backbone of every restaurant and grocery in the area.

Refrigeration problems that can't wait

Walk-in creeping above temp

Every degree of drift is inventory risk and a health-inspection finding waiting to happen — we triage these calls first.

Ice buildup on the evaporator

Defrost failure — and chipping at it by hand is how coils get punctured and repairs become replacements.

Ice machine producing less, or dirty ice

Scale and slime cut production long before they stop it; cleaning-and-sanitize programs keep Manitowoc and Hoshizaki machines at spec.

Compressor short-cycling or running constantly

Charge, condenser airflow, or controls — caught early it's a service call, ignored it's a compressor.

Door gaskets torn or sweating

The cheapest part on the box quietly running your energy bill and your compressor into the ground.

How the visit works

Triage fast

Refrigeration-down calls get priority — we know the difference between an inconvenience and a walk-in full of product at 50°F.

Fix the cause

Defrost failures, iced evaporators, and gasket leaks get root-cause repairs, because a recharge without a leak fix is just a future callback.

Prevent the next one

PM programs with coil cleaning, gasket checks, and ice machine sanitization on a schedule that satisfies health inspections.

The honest economics of commercial refrigeration

Refrigeration pricing follows urgency and access: gaskets, defrost components, fan motors, and controls are routine; compressors and evaporator replacements are the majors. On refrigerant-circuit work, the same rule as everywhere applies double here — find and fix the leak, because a walk-in on a top-off subscription is a walk-in that will fail on a Saturday.

Ice machines are their own economy: production loss from scale usually costs an operation more than the cleaning program that prevents it, and health departments notice slime before you do. We run scheduled clean-and-sanitize programs on Manitowoc and Hoshizaki equipment tuned to your water and volume.

New walk-in and refrigeration installs are quoted from your product load and turnover, not just cubic feet — an under-specified box runs constantly and dies young; an engineered one holds temp through the Friday rush. Boxes, systems, and controls, installed and commissioned by the same crew that will maintain them.

Timing & season

Summer is refrigeration's stress test — condensers fighting 95-degree ambient air while doors swing constantly. A pre-summer PM (coils cleaned, charge verified, defrost tested, gaskets checked) is the difference between July as a busy month and July as an emergency. Ice machines hit peak demand at the same moment; production problems that hide in February are catastrophes in July.

From the technician's side

We set defrost frequency and duration to the box's actual load rather than factory defaults — over-defrosting wastes energy and stresses product temps, under-defrosting builds the ice block that kills airflow. It's a ten-minute controls adjustment most boxes have never had, and it shows up on the electric bill.

The one that costs restaurants the most: ignoring a warm-trending walk-in because 'it's still cold enough.' Drift is the symptom of a system compensating — and compensating systems fail suddenly, at full inventory, on weekends. The call that feels premature on Tuesday is the one that saves the walk-in on Saturday.

Commercial Refrigeration — Common Questions

My walk-in is warm — what do I do right now?

Keep the door closed, don't pile product against the evaporator, and call 812-493-3011. If it's iced over, do not chip at it — that's how coils get punctured.

Which ice machine brands do you specialize in?

Manitowoc and Hoshizaki are our specialty, and we service other major brands. We also run cleaning and sanitization schedules that keep health inspectors happy.

Do you install new walk-ins?

Yes — boxes, refrigeration systems, and controls for new builds and replacements, sized to your product load.
